Walter “Buzz” Wood, age 68, passed away on October 30, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital. He was born June 24, 1950 in Amsterdam, NY and was the son of the late Harold and Jean (Wilkie) Wood Sr.
Buzz worked in construction with his brother at Danwood Remodeling in Clifton Park, NY.
Apart from his work, Buzz enjoyed oil painting, drawing, and composing songs. He was an accomplished guitarist, recording with his band, Marble Hat.
In his neighborhood he and his longtime partner, Dorothy Nemec were the go to couple for help with household projects or babysitting.
Because of his enjoyable personality and sense of humor, everyone who met him wanted to be his friend.
Buzz is survived by his children, Guy Jameson Wood of Saratoga Springs and Esttelle Nelson of Salt Lake City, and his brothers Harold G. Wood of Dallas and Daniel R. Wood of Clifton Park.
Buzz is predeceased by his twin sister Patty Taylor and partner Dorothy Nemec.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, November 16, 2018 6:00pm-8:00pm at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY 12019.
Memorial Service will follow at 8:00pm.
Interment will be in Chucanunda Cemetery on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:00pm.
