Dateline – Clifton Park, NY
Thomas G. Popielarz, age 56, passed away on October 11, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, after a brief illness. Tom was born on March 20, 1965 in Amsterdam, NY to the late Frederick and Helen (Anderson) Popielarz.
Tom attended Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam. He worked for Gateway Motors then Terry Morris for over 20 years. In 2009, he had the opportunity to become a Snap-on Tools Franchisee, which was his true calling and he loved it. He planned to retire in the next year to spend time at camp and some time in Florida.
Tom had a love of the outdoors, spending time with his family, friends, camping and boating. He was an avid sports fan, with his favorites being the NY Jets, the Baltimore Orioles and the NY Islanders. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh, especially watching the Three Stooges. Tom was a very generous person.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Tami (Scesny) Popielarz; his siblings, Joanne Popielarz and David (Valerie) Popielarz. He is also survived by several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom also leaves behind his four-legged friend Weezer.
All are invited to visit and share memories with the family on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 1:00-3:30pm at the Clifton Park Elk’s Lodge, 695 Mac Elroy Rd, Ballston Lake, NY. A Celebration of Life Service will conclude the afternoon at 3:30pm.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the ICU Nursing staff at St. Peter’s for the loving care shown to Tom, as well as all of the family and friends who have offered their help and support.
