Robert D. Emerich, age 75, passed on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital. Robert was born in Albany, NY on January 28, 1946, to parents John H. and Mariette (LaPlante) Emerich.
Following graduation from High School, Robert worked for and retired from General Electric as a pipefitter. He was a member of local #128. He and his wife also owned and operated Emerich’s Morning Glory Farm for 50 years.
When Robert wasn’t working his farm, he enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren and great granddaughter. He also enjoyed having a coffee at Stewart’s while sharing an occasional SlimJim with his furry friends; Matilda, Millie, and BooBoo.
Robert’s favorite pastime was enjoying the view of his wife’s garden from his rocking chair on the front porch or catching some “Z’s” in one of his greenhouses while listening to Johnny Cash.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth E. (VellaDiez) Emerich; his sons Carlos R. Emerich, his daughter Carmen M. Dennison (David), and Daniel R. Emerich (Pamela). In addition to his children, Robert is also survived by his loving brothers Henry “Bud” Emerich (Fran) and Gene Emerich, six grandchildren; Amanda M. McMillen (Jason), Sarah B. Emerich, Mariah E. VanBuskirk, Emily E. VanBuskirk, Mason D. Emerich, Connor W. Emerich, and his great granddaughter Olivia J. Fanning. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Along with his parents, Robert is predeceased by siblings John Emerich, Joan Coons, and Rhonda Zini.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road Ballston Lake, NY.
