Obituary for Marika Jaksa

Marika Jaksa
Dateline: Budapest, Hungary
Marika Jaksa, age 72, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. She was born on March 23, 1946 in Budapest and was the daughter of the late Ferenc Jaksa and Katalin Megtert. Marika grew up on the Buda side of Castle Hill (now a World Heritage site) that was devastated during WWII. Despite the gloomy aftermath, she rose above and enjoyed exploring the area as a youngster and as an adult she was able to find the beauty in all of life’s creations. After high school graduation, Marika went to trade school and became a waitress. She enjoyed her noble career as a waitress and served with popularity in local restaurants. She raised her family with love and looked forward to their vacations together. It wasn’t until later in life that she got to travel to the US a couple of times. Following retirement and relocating to the suburbs of Etyek, she enjoyed her afternoons gardening and tending to her pet cats and dogs. Marika loved to read and play crossword puzzles.
She was the beloved mother of Zoltan (Fiance, Kathleen) Prohaszka and Orsolya Prohaszka; dearest grandmother of Barnabas; sister of Miklos and the late Ferenc and former wife of Janos Prohaszka.
A Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Új köztemető.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to APF or Gateway House of Peace.
