Jean Coghill, age 92, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Elizabeth Church United Methodist Home in Binghamton, NY. Jean was born on March 16, 1929 in New Britain, CT to dear parents Howard and Gertrude (Strosser) Pascoe.
In 1946, Jean graduated from New Britain High School. Prior to marriage in 1951, she held several secretarial jobs, including secretary to the Sales Manager of the Corbin Cabinet Lock Co., a position she worked diligently at for five years. However, her most memorable and rewarding career was being a mother to her two wonderful children and wife to her devoted husband.
Jean enjoyed making holidays special and baking dozens of cookies at Christmas. She was an avid mystery reader, knitter and embroiderer. She loved watching the birds outside her bedroom window and collected many bird figurines over the years. She was active for many years in the Burnt Hills Women’s Club including her tenure as president. Jean also faithfully ran Red Cross Blood Mobiles for 35 years. After retirement, Jean enjoyed traveling the world with husband Hank and their two good friends Carl and Shirley Hirt.
Jean is survived by her children Lynn E. Coghill and Hal D. Coghill; brother Arthur Pascoe; grandchildren Serenity, Keren, Elizabeth and Daniel Coghill, Matthew Abbitt and great grandson Maxwell Russell.
Along with her parents, Jean is predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry D. Coghill and infant son, Scott S. Coghill.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jean in the spring.
Upon request of the family, interment will be held privately.
