Obituary for Helen K. Hubert

Helen Kathryn Hubert, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa, NY. She was born on February 27, 1939, in Albany, NY to parents Joseph Agustus and Helen Kathryn (Harrington) Hubert.
Following graduation from Colonie High School, Helen continued her education by attending college in Utica. She went on to a long and successful career as an engineer for AT&T in Albany, NY.
Helen was a devoted and cherished communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park, NY. It was there that she made many new friends and was known for her very caring and giving spirit. Helen loved giving back to her community, and she had a reputation for being a quiet giver. She loved to bowl, and she was a member of the Albany Women’s Bowling Association and the NYS Women’s Bowling 600 Club where she belonged since 1967 and held various officer positions. In 1986 she became a life member and hall of fame inductee. She made some memorable appearances on TV Tournament Time. Helen traveled the world with many of her bowling friends and created lasting memories.
Helen was truly one of a kind and will be remembered by her very generous heart. She was a great daughter, sister, aunt, and great aunt who was loved by all and will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her loving sister Joanne M. (Douglas E.) Anderson; Nieces, Stacy R. DiStefano, and Kimberly A. (Anthony) Nuzzi; and great nieces and nephews Peter DiStefano, Natalie DiStefano, Emma Nuzzi, and Anthony Nuzzi.
Along with her parents, Helen is predeceased by her very dear friends, Beverly Hagadorn and Modestine Leggierri.
The family would like to thank staff and volunteers at Saratoga Hospice and Gateway House of Peace where she was afforded the care to transition with dignity and peace.
Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 9:30am – 11:00am at St. Edward the Confessor Church Chapel, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd, Clifton Park, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Patrick Butler at 11:00am in church.
Entombment will conclude her services at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave, Menands, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s name to Gateway House of Peace, 179 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or St. Edward the Confessor Church Food Pantry.
