Edward W. Kopper, Jr., age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. Edward was born on October 14, 1941, in Schenectady, NY to the late Edward W. and Dorothy (Lathrop) Kopper.
Edward graduated from Linton High School in Schenectady and then served in the United States Army. Edward served as a Military Police Officer until his honorable discharge in 1966.
He had a lifelong love of cars, especially race cars. He worked as the chief mechanic for a national racing team, and later owned and operated his own garage, Kopper’s Auto Service.
Edward is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Kowaleski) Kopper; his children, Edward W. Kopper III and Suzanne (Sam) Goldstein and his grandchildren, Joshua and Kara Goldstein.
Along with his parents, Edward is predeceased by his siblings, Richard Kopper and Lynn “Suzie” Clairmont.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 12:30 PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s name to the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
