My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to that large and wonderful family from my hometown. Your mom was like a second mother to me. I cannot even begin to guess at the many hours I spent rambling around that big house off Ackerman Ave., (or falling out of that big tree in front of that big house). Your mom bandaged my wounds, made me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and gave me, and all my brothers, a lot of love. Dorothy was a great and wonderful woman. It is no surprise that she and my mom became such good and best friends for such a long time. They were cut from the same cloth. God bless Dorothy McCarter.
