Barbara J. MacDonald, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2022, in the comfort of her home on Merchant Lane where she had resided for the past 56 years. Barbara was born in Corinth, NY on October 21, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Irene (Towers) Milligan.
She married the love of her life, Robert MacDonald and together they raised two beautiful children. Barbara was a magnificent homemaker. When the children were raised, she took on a job at Stevens Elementary School as the head cook and food coordinator. She captured the hearts (and stomachs) of many and was always remembered fondly throughout the years by her peers and students alike.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert MacDonald who died in 2005; loving mother of Gary R. (Tammy) MacDonald and Bruce W. (Andrea) MacDonald; dear sister of Bonita Milligan, Berta (John) Beaudette, Judy VanDerwalker, Ralph Milligan and Roger Milligan; cherished grandmother of Meagan Maddalone, Brandon, Diana, and Brian MacDonald; sweet great-grandmother of Mia, Lochlan and Millie Maddalone, Kaylee and Paige LaForest, and Mya MacDonald.
Services will be held privately at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, where she will join her husband in rest in the wall niche.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX, 75284.
